Imagine if one of the fine humans I’ve become friends with through photographing them was considered to have such a pleasing face, that it was recognized by the most esteemed portrait photography prize in Britain.
This is sufficient motivation for me to enter the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2016 – the leading international photographic portrait competition, which celebrates and promotes the very best in contemporary portrait photography.
Organised by the National Portrait Gallery in London, the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize has established a reputation for its diversity of photographic styles submitted by a range of photographers, from gifted amateurs and photography students to established professionals.
With a first prize of £15k, and two runner-up positions of £2k… IMAGINE THE FRIED CHICKEN I COULD BUY!!
Thank you to everyone of my facebook page who eagerly offered to help me pick the ONE photo to submit. Photographers can submit as many images as they like, but I wish to put all my eggs into one basket, so which should it be? I’ve narrowed it down to a shortlist of FIVE, so watch this video – which sees me take the shortlist to the streets of Sheffield; asking complete strangers which image they think I should submit.
Please select your favourite ONE image, posting your choice below the pinned post on my facebook page.
